What’s a Worse Addiction? Opioids or Central Banks?

This note might be one of my more bearish, worst case scenario notes in a long while.  If you want to just move on to your holiday, please do so now.  And it's long.   Opioid addiction kills about 150+ people on average in the US each day.  Drugs that were developed for short term acute pain is now one of the leading causes of death in the US.  I live near the Sackler family who owns Purdue Pharma which owns the rights to Oxy and other drugs.  I don't know them (good thing since I'd probably kick someone's ass) but I know people who have been addicted and a couple people who nearly lost their life.  This is a runaway societal problem that was at one time a 'cure' for pain.  There are two ways addiction ends.  Death and a long difficult rehab process.    How many times have we seen the 'cure' turn into a bigger problem?  Many times.
